จากทีมแอนิเมเตอร์ผู้สร้าง KUNG FU PANDA ภาพยนตร์แอนิเมชั่น เรียลดิจิตอล 3 มิติ เรื่องแรกของประเทศจีน ด้วยทุนสร้างกว่า 360 ล้านบาท และทีมงานแอนิเมชั่นมากกว่า 500 ชีวิต และใช้เวลาในการสร้างนานกว่า 3 ปี Legend of a Rabbit คือแอนิเมชั่นสามมิติเรื่องแรกและทุนสร้างสูงสุดของประเทศจีน
เมื่อ ซือฟุ อาจารย์มวยได้รับบาดเจ็บ และหลบหนีออกจากพระราชวังมายังเมืองเล็กๆ โชคชะตาทำให้เขาพบกับกระต่ายหนุ่มนามว่า ทู่ คำปรารถนาสุดท้ายของ ซือฟุ ก็คือ ให้นำตรายางของสถาบันกังฟูกลับไปให้ลูกสาวในเขตเมือง .. ทู่ ไม่มีทางเลือกอื่นนอกจากตอบตกลง และคำสัญญาครั้งนี้ก็จะเปลี่ยนชีวิตเขาไปตลอดกาล ทู่ เดินทางเข้าเมืองหลวงเป็นครั้งแรก เขาพบว่าบัดนี้สถาบันกังฟูถูกปกครองโดย สแลช แพนด้าสุดโหดที่เคยเป็นศิษย์เอกของ ซือฟุ เพราะคำมั่นสัญญา ทู่ เลยต้องจำยอมอยู่ในสถาบันกังฟูด้วยการเป็นพ่อครัว ซึ่งเขาก็ได้เรียนรู้วิทยายุทธไปโดยไม่รู้ตัว ในที่สุดเขาก็ได้พบกับ โม๋ลี่ ลูกสาวของ ซือฟุ ที่หายตัวไป เพราะเธอพยายามขัดขวางแผนของ สแลช ที่จะยึดครองพระราชวัง ทู่ ไม่มีทางเลือกอื่นนอกจากร่วมมือกับเธอ เพื่อหยุดยั้งแพนด้าใจโหดและลูกสมุนให้ได้
